This sleepy-eyed, freckle faced youth sports a prodigious top hat covering a thick crop of curly hair. Regrettably neither the maker nor the sitter are identified.

The resealed silver plate is in very good condition with wonderful full tones and excellent clarity. There is some tarnish hugging the mat edge, a few small spiders and a colony of translucent spots that are visible only when tilted towards the light. The daguerreotype remains housed in the bottom half of a case.
