This is a handsome photograph of the stoic "Ex Chief" of the Clifton Fire Department. Clifton amalgamated with Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada in 1881, so the making of this photograph probably precedes that date. The 7.5" X 9" albumen print is in good condition. Highlight tones are a bit bright, but the over-all impression is sharp and detailed.  The photograph is mounted to a board decorated with a printed design surrounding the image. There is some darkening of the edges, some spots and stains, but the mount is otherwise in sturdy condition.
