Pictured in this 1/6 plate tintype are three uniformed U.S. militia in casual pose c. 1880. All three soldiers gnaw on cigars; one sits atop the covered posing table in what appears to be an outdoor setting with a canvas drop for background. The plate is in good condition, though there are some minor imperfections, including a ding at the top right, a light bend on the right side and a small black spot on the left side. The soldier on the right has moved slightly during the exposure. The image has good tones and excellent clarity.
